Vedic astrology is the tradition of astrology that emerges out of India and, in the east, it is known by the Sanskrit word Jyotiṣa. Jyoti means light, and Jyotiṣa is the sacred art and science of the lights in the sky, as well as the light of awareness within. This branch of astrology encompasses all of the different systems of divination taught and practiced in India.
